TEX-AN 2000: A Network and a Family of Contracts

It is important to understand that TEX-AN 2000 is both a network and a family of requirements contracts. The network carries voice, data, Internet and video communications. TEX-AN 2000 requirements contracts are contracts designed to satisfy user requests for easy to use, precompeted telecommunications-related services.

To Order Voice and Data Services

All new customers of voice, data, Internet and video services must contact DIR directly. New customers must communicate with our TEXAN Solutions Design Staff. Please call our SOLUTIONS CENTER at 512-463-7800. All customer orders should be emailed to telecom.solutions@dir.state.tx.us.

For requirements contracts, customers usually call the TEX-AN 2000 vendors directly. DIR/TSD has completed contracts with all of these suppliers.

Both A Network and a Family of Contracts

TEX-AN 2000 is both a network and a family of requirements contracts. Voice, data, Internet and video are services that use the network. The TEX-AN 2000 family of contracts are intended to satisfy a wide variety of requirements.

TEX-AN 2000 Requirements Contracts were awarded in nine distinctive areas. In most cases, contracts within one area were awarded to several vendors. To view all vendors who were awarded contracts in a particular area, click on the service below.

Voice and Data Services

Long Distance, Toll, Toll Free and Internet and Video service, etc., though not under the requirements contracts umbrella, are covered by TEX-AN 2000 contracts.
