Contracting and Procurement Services Division
The Service Delivery division implements IT initiatives for statewide customers and provides internal administrative and technical support for DIR staff.
Service Delivery assists state agencies and political subdivisions in the most cost-effective acquisition of their information resources by negotiating, managing, and administering contracts with major information technology providers.
Eligible customers for statewide contracts are all governmental entities in Texas, including state agencies, universities, cities, counties, and public schools. Through the Cooperative Contracts Program, the division leverages the buying power of the state to negotiate volume discount rates for goods and services, which are made available through the DIR Store and the Go DIRect Program. Products offered include commodity items such as personal computers and associated desktop software, hardware and software maintenance, staffing services, disaster recovery planning, and other associated products with high customer demand.
The division also manages the contracts for Telecommunications, TexasOnline (the State of Texas government portal), the state's data centers, the State Data Center in San Angelo, and the Austin Disaster Recovery Operations Center.
Service Delivery also provides administrative support to the agency, including functions such as human resources, information resources management, purchasing, accounting, budgeting and financial reporting, marketing, facility and inventory management, copy center, electronic and print publishing, and Web site administration.
