Texas Department of Information Resources Awards Academic Superstore Contract for Education Software

Contract Offers Significant Savings to Education Entities

AUSTIN – A newly signed agreement between the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) and Academic Superstore offers never-before-offered low pricing to publicly funded education entities when purchasing education software. Included in the contract are eighty-five different publishers and hundreds of titles. DIR has negotiated with Academic Superstore to offer customers incredibly low prices on Education Software.

“Our education customers have been asking DIR to contract for an expansive list of titles,” said Brian Rawson, Service Delivery Director for DIR. “We are excited that we are able to meet that need.”

"The educators of Texas truly appreciate DIR's efforts to improve access to technology for the classroom. Thanks to DIR for keeping the main thing the main thing: the nearly 4.5 million children we serve in Texas public schools," said Shirley J. Neeley, Commissioner of Education.

The contract contains eighty-five different education software publishers including:

  • TechSmith
  • Leapfrog
Academic Superstore is pleased to join with DIR in offering these much requested software titles,” said Steve Ledbetter, Vice President of Academic Superstore. “Academic Superstore is working hard for education. This contract will give our education customers tremendous value for their dollar.

Texas public education customers may place their orders directly with Academic Superstore by referencing the DIR contract number DIR-SDD-244 to receive the discounted pricing. Out-of-state educational entities may be eligible to utilize this contract and should contact DIR directly.
