Topic: Creating Accessible Documents in Microsoft Office 2010
During the past year, many Texas state agencies made the move to Microsoft Office 2010. The requirement to make our documents accessible with the new software brought about the need to provide practical training for tens of thousands of agency employees. In answer to this need, 37 employees from 11 Texas agencies got together to produce a series of audio/visual modules that could be shared by everyone, at no cost to anyone. Our Texas collaboration drew energy from the dedicated accessibility professionals who worked toward a common goal. Now the energy is spreading: the training has been adopted by the U.S. Health and Human Services agency, and several universities around the country are using it.
For call-in attendees, presentation materail are available for download from the DIR PESO page 1 hour prior to the meeting.
