Texas Project Delivery Framework Extensions
Texas Project Delivery Framework Extensions interpret and extend the base set of practices found in the Framework by providing a standard set of guidance and tools for various types of technology projects and project delivery environments. Framework Extensions can be proposed and developed by any agency.
Framework Extensions, when specifically referenced, are separate and distinct extensions of the base Framework. Project deliverables created with an Extension are not required to be submitted to state entities (for example, the Quality Assurance Team).
Extension Development Process
The Framework Extension Development Guide is a reference source for creating an extension, from proposal through release. The Guide describes all activities that must be executed to develop and integrate an extension into the Framework.
The Guide and the following tools are provided for the development process (Information about file formats).
- Framework Extension Development Guide – Tagged PDF (486 KB)
- Framework Extension Proposal form – DOC (74 KB)
- Framework Extension Description form – DOC (68 KB)
- Framework Extension Guide template – DOC (98 KB)
Current Extensions
The Texas Project Delivery Framework currently includes the following extension:
-
System Development Life Cycle Extension – provides guidance to systems development practitioners by including a consistent toolset for addressing requirements, design, testing, and implementation of systems and system components.
-
Project Financial Life Cycle Extension – addresses integration of project financial practices with other practices (e.g., state budget appropriations, Governmental Accounting Standards Board – GASB) executed throughout a project life cycle; promotes a common understanding of various financial activities, including how agencies create complementary project financial practices.
