Change Advisory Process

Project Delivery Framework logo

DIR continuously seeks to identify and deliver Framework enhancements. As part of continuous process improvement, DIR established a change advisory process to help ensure the Framework meets the business needs of agencies.

The change advisory process consists of a Change Advisory Board and a formal method for agencies to submit proposed changes. Any agency may propose changes.

Based on DIR's release management plan, approved Framework revisions are published twice a year, in the second and fourth quarters, unless an emergency change is necessary.

Change Advisory Board

The primary purpose of the Change Advisory Board (CAB) is to identify and review proposed changes to the Framework, and to advise DIR on implementation of those changes. The CAB, formed in 2007, adopted a charter to establish a common understanding of the function, roles, and responsibilities of CAB members, who rotate based on a Change Advisory Board model. The CAB meets twice a year in the first and third quarters.

How to Request a Change

Any agency may propose changes that will encourage and promote effective use of the Framework by the majority of agencies, and that will align with current industry project delivery standards and practices. Before proposing a change, review the Master Change Request List below, which provides current information about proposed changes.

To propose a new change, submit a completed Change Request Form to projectdelivery@dir.texas.gov.

  • Change Request Form – DOC (109 KB)

Note: Change Requests received by December 31 will be placed on the agenda for the first quarter CAB meeting of the calendar year. Change Requests received by June 30 will be placed on the agenda for the third quarter CAB meeting of the calendar year.
