Statewide Technology Management
Progress Report

Texas Department of Information Resources
House Bill 1516 of the 79th Texas Legislature directed DIR, in coordination with the Legislative Budget Board (LBB), the Texas Building and Procurement Commission (TPBC) and the Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA), to analyze the current automated information systems of state agencies to determine how these systems may be combined to more effectively synchronize strategic planning, budgeting and reporting of the state’s technology expenditures, assets and projects. This report, Statewide Technology Management: Opportunities for Improvement, was submitted to state leadership in December 2005.
House Bill 1788 of the 80th Texas Legislature directed DIR, in coordination with the LBB, the TBPC and the CPA, to produce biennial updates to the Statewide Technology Management report. This 2007 biennial update, titled Statewide Technology Management: Progress Report, was submitted to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Speaker of the House and Texas State Auditor in December 2007.
