Statewide Technology Management
Future Reporting Environment
The goal for the future management and reporting environment is to "collect once, use often." This will require oversight agencies, reporting agencies, and other stakeholders to work in unison to align oversight processes and data collection guidelines through the use of standardized information collection criteria and an enterprise data model.
At the oversight level, the LBB, DIR, CPA, TBPC, and State Auditor's Office (SAO) will share information through automated information systems and other data exchange processes in support of statewide technology management functions (Exhibit I). The CAT, Governor's Office, and Office of the Attorney General (OAG) would also help establish more effective management functions.
Finally, through the elimination of outmoded reports and the streamlining of remaining reporting requirements, the reporting burden of state agencies will be lessened.
Exhibit III illustrates the future data collection and reporting environment and its benefits to the state.
