High Speed Internet Services
The State of Texas, through TEX-AN 2000 contracts, offers
several choices of very high speed, high bandwidth Internet
connections. Users are usually very large organizations or those
that have special requirements. Currently, beyond DS-1, DIR offers
DS-3, OC-3 and OC-12 Internet connections. In the table, DS-0 and
DS-1 are shown for reference. OC-48 and OC-192, are also shown.
These extremely large bandwidth, very high speed connections, are
shown to indicate that such larger speeds are possible and even
necessary in some applications.

Not even the lowest speed high speed connections are available
in all areas. Depending upon existing and planned facilities, some
services, especially higher bandwidth services, may not be
available or may be prohibitively expensive. Generally, higher
bandwidth services are readily available in areas with good,
existing access to the TEX-AN backbone. Contact your Solutions
Design Representative to find out about high speed, high bandwidth
Internet connections for your organization/location.
