The TEX-AN Users' Group (TUG)
About the TEX-AN Users' Group
Our TEX-AN Users' Group is designed to provide premier communication and exchange information about upcoming issues concerning TEX-AN 2000 networking and related issues for government agencies, educational institutions, libraries and political subdivisions statewide.
Joining the Users' Group
Being a "member" of the TEX-AN Users Group means attending the Users' Group Meetings and being active on the TEX-AN ListServ. The ListServ, called TEXAN-L, allows all TEX-AN users to receive important notices and information. It allows users to share problems and solutions with other users. Texas and TEX-AN are so large that its rare that any problem or solution applies to just one location. The ListServ is a forum for important issues and activities related to TEX-AN and telecommunications in general.
Meeting Notices
The TEX-AN Users Group sessions are held bimonthly in Austin, Texas, at the Brown-Heatley Building, located at 4900 North Lamar. The receptionist will direct you to the meeting room.
Meeting Sessions
Meetings are divided into two parts: a morning training session and an afternoon general meeting. Morning training sessions are designed to educate current users on issues concerning TEX-AN 2000 contracts. The afternoon session is a chance to meet the TEX-AN staff, ask questions face-to-face and to listen to other users discuss their concerns and issues.
